Pic from the Last Hunt of the Season

In terms of sheer numbers, it was a mediocre season at best, but every day hunting is a good day. We never scratched, but we never limited out either. We ended the season on a high note though. A friend of mine shot a banded speckled belly goose from my blind on the closing day. This was about a week after I shot the banded mottled duck shown in a previous post.

Yeah, the bands are really unusual. I normally don't see ANY banded birds down here. In fact, after 20+ years of duck & goose hunting, I shot my first banded bird this past season. Go figure.
